Ozzy Bites Head Off of a … Duck?

Those were the words Ozzy Osbourne sang before he bit the head off of a live bat during a concert way back in the 80′s.
It’s unclear whether Ozzy was learning how to love bat heads, sushi style, or whether he was trying to forget the hate he felt for his mother by gnawing on a little bat lollipop.
Either way one thing was clear, this stunt had the effect of propelling Ozzy to near god status on the youth of the world. To this day, it continues. Take for instance Ozzie, a Staffordshire terrier, that tried to one up the Prince of Darkness by chomping down a whole duck…well a whole rubber duck.
His namesake was once notorious for biting the head off a bat, but Ozzie the Staffordshire terrier felt less than bubbly when he swallowed this rubber duck.
The seven-month-old pooch was play fighting with another dog over the bath toy, but when he began losing he preferred swallowing the plastic prize to giving it up.
His owner Adam Townsend of Cubbington said: “I just couldn’t believe my eyes.”
At first Ozzie seemed unaffected, but when he began vomiting Mr Townsend took Ozzie to vets at Avonvale Veterinary Hospital in Warwick.
The same thing happened with the real Ozzy too. Once back stage after biting the bat’s head off, he turned to his wife Sharon and said, “Sharon! Sharon!” and then threw up. Once she saw the bat brain, mixed with the Italian Primavera he’d had earlier, she rushed him to the veterinarian.
They were amazed when they saw the dog’s x-ray.
Surgeon Emily Burton said: “The duck must have begun to irritate Ozzie’s stomach lining.
“We operated to remove the duck and Ozzie was back to his usual energetic self in no time.”
If I was the vet, I would have had Ozzie pass the duck in his stool. That way, when the parents were out of the room at home, I’d put the duck in front of some baby to stick into it’s mouth. It would be the perfect circle of life. It would complete me.
