Hamsters – Not Just For Richards Anymore
January 14 | Hmmm...No Comments Yet
Some things I can’t put a price on. Things like always having plenty of food, unlimited nap time and farting in bed.
For humans, I’d put dog ownership in the same class. You can’t buy the companionship a canine offers for any price.
Seriously, where else could humans turn to find a non-judgemental animal willing to put up with their psychotic behavior? Maybe there’s a species on Planet Lovetron willing to put up with it, but not here on earth.
Well, humans being who they are, don’t care and are looking for a lower priced alternative to dog ownership.
Cat Evicted from Post Office Home

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…cats are free loaders.
They don’t protect you, they don’t hunt for you and they certainly don’t love you. If you think otherwise, then you’ve been hitting the catnip a bit too hard.
Humans, however, fall for these lying furballs all the time.
It was bad enough I had to read about Dewey, the freakin cat, that made itself at home in a local library. I can live with that, but I can’t live with the fact he made a $1.5MM advance on his book. Makes the advance I got (three medium sized milkbones), seem small by comparison.
Now I see there’s a copy cat (yeah, pun intended) in Alabama. Read more

Barbie Does Scotland
January 12 | 1 Comment
If someone were to tell me that Barbie was coming to live with the family, I would think a make up wearing, fake pawed poodle was on its way.
Turns out, that’s not always the case, as this family of two border collies found out (yes, they own the two humans in the video).

Help a Skunk – Get Arrested
January 12 | Hmmm...No Comments Yet
Something smells funny about this story. In fact, it smells like a conspiracy created from within the deep bowels of Salt Lake City’s government skunkworks facility.
OK, there really isn’t a conspiracy. Truth be told, the only thing odiferous about this tale is one of the key players in it. No, I’m not talking about the skunk, but rather about the defense attorney.
With the 72 trillion smell registers on my nose, I can smell her all the way here in Atlanta.
Nose news alert!!!

Stray Cats Stop Singing, Save Baby
January 8 | 2 Comments
I know cats sometimes think I’m not on their side. Well, they’re right, most of the time.
However, when I see a heroic deed performed by the feline class, I’ll bark it out. It’s the least I can do to support my feline sister Moose, and her sorry lineage.
So here goes a bark out for a job well done.
In Argentina, it appears a gaggle of kittens saved a baby’s life. Read more

Firefighting Mule is a Hero
January 7 | 1 Comment
The only Lou I’ve ever known was a cantankerous news producer on the Mary Tyler Moore show. Fortunately for a woman in Tennessee, she knows a Lou too.
Her Lou is not a him, and it’s not a human either, but rather a mule with a Smokey Bear attitude. Not since Gus the field goal kicking mule have we seen such praise showered upon the symbol of the equestrian working class.
But it seems, this mule deserves the praise.

Dog Imitates Clueless Bird

Jack Russells. They say they’re comedic geniuses, and based on this video, I’d have to agree.
This JR’s impression of a clueless bird is amazing. I had to keep reminding myself that this was a canine and not a feathery fellow trying to fly back into the living room.

Horse Breaks Into Theater
January 6 | Hmmm...No Comments Yet
Hey, why the long face? Is it because I haven’t posted many horse stories lately? Well, just whinnie and you shall receive.
Today’s story is simple, really. It’s about a horse looking to catch the latest movie release of Batman, and then undoubtedly sneaking into the re-screening of National Velvet.
Let’s face it, watching a movie in a stall can’t be compared to watching it in a theater. It makes spending five times what you normally would on a large bag of oats worth it. That, plus the stadium seating make it a worthy night out on the town, even if you don’t have a mare to share it with.

Whooo’se Your Buddy?

I remember my old man telling me, “Bo, be careful of the company you keep, for it says a lot about you.”
I couldn’t agree with him more, but for whatever reason, I just couldn’t get him out of my life. At least he was a well trained, treat giving machine.
The same can not be said about a Basset Hound named Beryl, who likes the company of a feathery friend.
Check out his story from the The Telegraph.
