Epic Fail – Cats!

February 20 | 1 Comment

When I was but a young pup, I remember watching a movie with the old man about a devious rat. The movie wasn’t about the typical dirty rat we see every day (they’re called politicians), but a real live rat.

His name was Willard and he commanded an army of rats to do his bidding. Let’s just say if Willard asked you to bring him a piece of cheese, it was in your best interest to do so.

I still get the willies thinking about being overrun by those tiny little feet and having my body ravaged by their pointy little teeth.

Once again, the cat world has failed to perform its basic duty to purge the planet of this plague.

Well, if size matters in the rat world, then an opening at the top of the organization was just created courtesy of a brave Chinese man.

Check out this story for the details.

A giant rat with one-inch-long teeth has been caught in the southern Chinese province of Fujian.  The rat, which weighed six pounds and had a 12-inch tail, was caught at the weekend in a residential area of Fuzhou, a city of six million people on China’s south coast.

The ratcatcher, who was only named as Mr Xian, said he swooped for the rodent after seeing a big crowd of people surrounding it on the street.

He told local Chinese newspapers that he thought the rat might be a valuable specimen, or a rare species, and had to muster up his courage before grabbing its tail and picking it up by the scruff of its neck.

“I did it, I caught a rat the size of a cat!” he shouted out afterwards, according to the reports. Mr Xian is believed to still be in possession of the animal, after stuffing into a bag and departing the scene.

Why do I get the feeling that the low grade dog food I get is enhanced with either melamine or rat meat?

It’s too bad the catcher stuffed this animal in a bag and disappeared. It would’ve been interesting to study and find out from what this species is a descendant of. Did the cat and the rat finally made a truce and decided to try new things out in 2009? Like, hmm, having a “baby” rat?

Got something to say?
