Culling Poop in Taipei

When owners tell their pups to “jump”, most dogs will ask how high?
When I hear that phrase, I ask why? I mean, why risk a hip fracture? Why risk a twisted paw? Why risk leaving mother earth for even a split second?
When I bark “jump”, my owners know it’s time for them to jump off the couch and let me out, or in, depending on the circumstances. It’s to the point where I just move my jowls without making a peep. In the flash of eye, they drool and spring to life to open the door.
Bow-Wow! Reviews My Book

Bow-Wow!, the free monthly newspaper for dog lovers on the Oregon and southwest Washington coast, has been keeping readers informed about dog-related events and activities since 2000. It’s entertaining, too, with regular features about dogs and their people.
In this month’s issue, rover reporter Gus Nevan gets his paws on a copy of my book. Since this was the first review of my book typeset on recycled trees, I was a bit nervous as I read along. Read more

Bo’s Promo Video

You’ve heard me bark about the book at the top of my lungs. You’ve read my shameless plugs.
But still, you haven’t purchased my book. Well, maybe this catchy little video will get you off your couch and log onto Amazon to order it.
Or if you live in a state where they allow dogs into retail stores, you can head over to your nearest bookstore and pick up a copy there.
But be forewarned, book retailers don’t like dog authors. That’s why you’ll have to look in the pet section for Bad to the Bone. Nobody puts Bobo in the corner, except booksellers.
Pit Bull Burglarizes Home

Let’s face it folks, we’re all criminals.
In this day and age where everything from rabies shots to dog park access to where you can poop is legislated by unscrupulous humans it’s hard not to fall on the wrong side of the law at least a few times.
For instance, yesterday I was caught waddling along at 1 mph in the left lane of our local walking park. Regulations say this lane is reserved for those cruising by at least twice that pace.
Sure I was breaking the law but shouldn’t there be one for the inappropriateness of others barking, “Move over Q-tip” at you?

Convicted of Stalking-Bird Breaks Free

His storytelling, humor and camera work are unparalleled to this day. One of my all time faves is “The Birds“. I remember seeing that when I was about a year and a half old. To this day I still have nightmares about the scene where the lady’s eyes are pecked out. I bet they tasted good.
Of course we’ve had our share of “The Birds” around here too. It seems a mockingbird likes swooping down on my mother every time she leaves the front porch. Why just the other day I saw her take a step from the front entrance, with broom in hand, only to be taunted by her nemesis. I gotta say, watching her blindly swing the sweeper was quite entertaining. Maybe she should change her name to Tippi.

Cow Milk is a Lethal Weapon

You may be thinking to yourself, “Bo is such a laid back boy. I bet he never gets angry.”
Well, you’d be wrong. I get mad at a lot of things. Take politicians, for instance. They promise everything and always come up short, especially when it comes to putting a tenderloin in every bowl.
I get angry at cats too. They just yap it up all day long…meow, meow, meow…and then expect to be waited on hand and foot. How much can a dog take when he’s trying to nap the day away?

October 5 | Hmmm...No Comments Yet
I want to let everyone know that Ask Dog Lady, the syndicated columnist, has asked Horst and me to be on her radio show this Wednesday the 7th. I’m a big fan of the Dog Lady and thrilled to be on the show to talk about my book BAD TO THE BONE: Memoir Of A Rebel Doggie Blogger.
The radio show is on 980 WCAP Wednesday, October 7th at 2 pm (EST) and can be listened to live or later via podcast.
Dog Lady was kind enough to preview my book before it came out and gave me 5 paws up.
Put Me In Coach

I used to prefer walking, with a hobo stick and sack of snacks over my shoulder. Nowadays I’ve taken a liking to the ‘Old Man Express’ for my local needs. All that means is I get picked up while being carried up and down the stairs.
For long distance trips I prefer the passenger seat of our Ford Explorer. No reason to sit in the back seat considering all I’ve done for this family. Lest you worry, I buckle up for safety’s sake, especially if my mother is at the helm.
