Chicken Attacks Mailman Looking For Seed Money

That may sound harsh to some, but it’s part of my DNA.
The animosity goes back to the beginning of time. Back to the days we protected the opening of our owner’s cave. Even then, when Kliff came to deliver stone letters sent from afar, he’d taunt us by throwing Brontosaurus bones at our muzzles.
Yes, the same Brontosaurus bones that are as deadly to dogs as grapes are.
Things haven’t changed much since then. But maybe they should.
As I type this, the famous words of one Rodney King come to mind, “Can’t we all just get along?”
I think we can, and I for one am willing to call a truce.
That’s right, no longer will I bark out the front window when my local mail carrier drives by. No, I won’t bark a bit as it stops by our mailbox and puts the latest utility bills in. No, I call for peace between our mail carrying friends and dogs of all breeds and stripes.
Well, nature abhors a vacuum, and I realize there will be others to fill the void. Check out what just happened in Toronto.
SAULT STE. MARIE, ONT. - It was a wing special one postman could have done without.
A mail carrier in the border town of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., was attacked by a chicken while on his route Wednesday.
According to police, several chickens were wandering around the front yard and bushes when the postman approached the door to deliver mail. That’s when one chicken appeared from under the porch and attacked him.
It’s not known if he was injured. The postal carrier left before police arrived.
The county’s animal control was contacted, but it is not known if there will be any follow-up investigation.
